Anita Lynne Sharninghouse, 78, of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, in North Fort Myers. She was born October 3, 1947, in Findlay, Ohio.
Anita was a graduate of Bowling Green State University earning her Master's Degree and was an alumni of North Baltimore High School. She was a Deputy Commander for the Department of Defense. In her retirement, she worked on various committees in Heron's Glen, including the newspaper. She enjoyed reading mystery novels and watching her favorite British television shows. Her favorite show was Midsomer Murders.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved most. Anita found great happiness in spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, whom she adored and loved to spoil.
She also expressed her love through baking, often sharing homemade treats that brought comfort and joy to family and friends. She loved making fudge and cookies. Her kindness, gentle nature, and ability to make others feel cherished will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ralph; two children, Veronica Jackson (Doug) and Ralph Sharninghouse, Jr; three brothers, Tom Johnson, Kent Johnson, and Kenny Johnson; as well as two grandchildren Don Jackson and Mackenzie Jackson.
Anita was preceded in death by her father Harold Johnson, her mother and stepfather Audrey and Harold Shuster, a sister Edythe Pelton, and a brother Michael Myers.
A private memorial service for her family will be held Wednesday 6/10/26 .
