Antoine Ameen Nasrawy

Antoine Ameen Nasrawy, 77, a resident of Lehigh Acres, FL, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Lehigh Acres, FL. He was born on January 7, 1949, in Alexandria, Egypt, to parents Amin Gobran Elias Nasrawy and Marcelle Bebawy Shehata, now deceased.

Antoine was of the Christian faith. His journey of faith, through the Adventist Church, brought him and his wife to the United States, where they built a life together. Antoine was formerly of Brooklyn, New York, before making Lehigh Acres, Florida, his home in 2000.

Arriving with very little, Antoine made his own way through determination and hard work, opening and running his own grocery store to provide for his family. He was a devoted father with a free and adventurous spirit - known for his spontaneity, like the day he came home from work and announced, out of nowhere, "We're going to Hawaii." True to form, he skipped the tour group and led his family on their own unforgettable adventure instead. He brought that same spirit to trips throughout the years, from road trips to the Carolinas to visits to Jamaica, Hawaii, and his native Egypt, where, earlier as a young man, he loved serving as an informal tour guide for visitors and missionaries from his church family.

Music was one of Antoine's lifelong joys. He began playing the harmonica as a boy in elementary school and never stopped, playing hymns such as "I Come to the Garden Alone" and "It Is Well with My Soul." He loved to sing, often in duet with his brother, favorites like "Softly and Tenderly" and "Flee as a Bird to Your Mountain," and he greatly admired the Christian hymn singer Tennessee Ernie Ford. In his younger years he was also an avid weightlifter.

Above all, Antoine will be remembered for the size of his heart. He cared deeply for the poor and needy, quietly helping with food, shelter, and medical needs, and rarely asked for anything beyond what he truly needed - what came to him in excess, he gave away. He will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, his laughter, and the lasting impression he left on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his two children, Antoine Nasrawy (Jessica) of Brooklyn, NY, Richard Nasrawy (Dedra) of Kissimmee, FL; his two brothers, Joseph Nasrawy (Susan) of Jessup, MD, George Nasraoui (Mary) of Brooklyn, NY; and his three grandchildren, Isis Nasrawy, Ramses Nasrawy, and Zoie Burt-Fortune.
