Born on February 10, 1944, she was raised in Clare, Michigan. Carol was the eldest of four siblings. In 1962, she married James R. Henning, and together they raised three children. Following the tragic loss of her first husband in 1980, Carol showed strength as she continued to care for her children. She later found love again and married James Holeman in 1984.

Carol was known for her beautiful soul and deep devotion to the Lord. She will be long remembered for her passion for playing the violin and attending many music festivals. Alongside her second husband, James Holeman, she enjoyed camping in their fifth-wheel camper and traveling across nearly all 50 states. She will also be remembered for the love and pride she had for her family.

She is survived by her brother, Matthew Murphy; her children, James (Cathy) Henning, Jill (Jason) Nickerson, and Joseph (Cari) Henning; her grandchildren, Richard (Kay) Pobocik, Elizabeth (Earl) Shumway, Jamie (Alysia) Henning, Aaron Armstrong, Nicole Nickerson, and Jordyn Henning; her nephew, Sean Murphy, whom she helped raise; and several great-grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Marjorie Murphy; her first husband, James Henning; her second husband, James Holeman; her brothers, George Murphy and Timothy Murphy; and her grandson, Michael Henning.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place, and a private memorial service for family will be held at a later date.
