Catherine Marie Thieret, a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (aka GG), a true matriach of her family, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength and devotion that spans generations.
Born to William and Marie Hartwick, raised in Bloomfield, PA alongside her 5 brothers, now deceased, she carried her hometown pride with her throughout her life. A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she loved cheering on her team and never missed a chance to show her loyalty. That black-and-gold spirit reflected who she was - stong, steadfast and fiercely devoted to what she loved.
Catherine was a faithful Catholic and a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in North Fort Myers, FL. Her deep and unwavering faith in God shaped the way she lived, loved and cared for others. It was the quiet strength that carried her throughout life.
She shared an extraordinary 71-year marriage with her husband, Robert William Thieret, who preceded her in death. Their love story was one of unwavering commitment, loyalty and partnership - a rare and beautiful bond. Today, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been reunited with him in heaven, together again after a lifetime of love.
She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah, Diane and Donna, her son Dale and daughter-in-law Annie as well as ten grandchildren (Michael, Derrek, Amanda, Jose, Matthew, TJ, Robbie, Jasmine, Kelsie and Carson) and her nineteen Great-Grandchildren.
Her greatest joy in life was simply being with her family. Time spent talking, laughing and just being present meant everything to her. She always made it a point to come to every celebration, sports event or activitiy that her grandchildren were a part of. She was selfless in that way. She possessed a rare gift - the ability to make every person she encountered feel seen, valued and deeply loved.
Known for her warmth, strength and vibrant spirit, she embraced life fully. She loved time spent with family, shared laughter and especially enjoyed casino trips, where her fun-loving personality shined, sitting side-by-side with her children having fun. She believed in enjoying life and finding happiness wherever possible. She may not have always had the answers, but that never stopped her from confidently saying her favorite phrase, "I know".
Above all, she will be remembered as a woman who loved deeply and selflessly - a steady glue that held her family together. Her influence will continue to live on through the values she instilled and the love she gave so freely.
For those lucky enough to to know her, she had a remarkable way of making each one of us feel deeply seen and special. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her, and in the lessons she taught us about kindness, love and being present with each other. Goodbye for now, we will carry your love with us always, until we meet again.
