Charles Justice, 83, a resident of North Ft. Myers, FL, crossed over Friday January 9, 2026, in Cape Coral, FL. He was born October 7, 1942, in Tupelo, MS to Hazel and Charles Benford Justice, now deceased.
Chuck was of the Catholic faith. A farmer at heart, he spent his years gardening, raising prized pointers, cattle and other livestock, fishing and boating. He also enjoyed spending summers by the pool, weekends grilling and decorating the house for holidays. Whether on his tractor or admiring a classic car, he embraced every moment with strength and character.
He began working at the young age of 9 years old digging footing foundations. His family relocated to Zion, Illinois in 1947. Marrying and raising a family with wife Joan, his bride of 62 years, in Lake Villa, IL.
Chuck was a long-standing member of the IBEW Local 150 Union in Lake County, IL, where he owned two electrical businesses (KC Electric and Just Electric). He was a long-standing member of the National Electrical Contractor Association (NECA) and served on the Board for several years.
His love for Sanibel Island began with family vacations in 1984. He enjoyed many late nights playing cards with family and friends. During his 20 years of retirement, he stayed active gardening and maintaining a diligent fitness routine. He also enjoyed having dinner at many local restaurants where he became like family with the staff.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife Jo'Anne Edna Justice, children John (Kim) of Spring Grove, IL, Susan Justice of North Ft. Myers, FL, and Joe (Shanna) of Naples, FL; sister Carol (Bruce) Reinoehl of Evergreen, CO; and grandson Josh. He is predeceased by brothers Michael and Mitchell, sister Betty and granddaughter Jacquelyn.
