Clyde Alfred Michener, 89, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, in Cape Coral. He was born on May 10, 1936, in Darby, Pennsylvania, to Wilbur and Marjorie Michener.
Clyde dedicated his life to faith and service, spending over 40 years as a minister. He was deeply committed to his calling and touched countless lives through his guidance and compassion. In addition to his ministry, Clyde shared his knowledge as a professor at Messiah University for many years, inspiring students with his wisdom and integrity.
Beyond his professional and spiritual work, Clyde had a love for sports and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies/Eagles and Penn State football. He enjoyed fishing and treasured time spent outdoors, embracing the simple joys of life.
He was of the Baptist faith and lived each day with devotion and kindness. He graduated from Houghton University top of his class and served as pastor to church’s in NJ/NY/PA/FL over his 40 years of ministry.
Clyde is survived by his beloved wife of over 64 years, Marjorie Michener; three children, Martha “Marti” (Frank) of Connecticut, Richard (Kim) of Pennsylvania, and Robert; as well as three cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Owen, and Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur George Michener, Marjorie Ellen (Tutton) Michener, and his brother David Michener.
Clyde will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for family, and his passion for teaching and serving others. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
