David Alan Godkin

David Alan Godkin, 83, a resident of Cape Coral, FL, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born April 12, 1942 in Rose, NY to Harold “Pete” and Dora Godkin, now deceased.

David was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid golfer and basketball fan who spent his happiest hours collecting model trains and cars. He will be remembered for his dedicated service, his competitive spirit, and his appreciation for fine craftsmanship. He loved reading, traveling, and spending time with friends, family, and his many cat companions.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gretchen Godkin; and children, Jon Godkin (Robin) of Richardson, TX, and Todd Godkin (Amy) of Richmond, VA; brother, Neal Godkin of NY; and four grandchildren.
