David Jerome Allen

David Jerome Allen was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 24, 1933, to the late Gerturde Madden and Arthur Allen.

David enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp as soon as he turned 18, fought in Korea, and rose to the rank of Sergeant. When he returned from service, he attended Loyola University, Chicago where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

He spent his career as a federal special agent and criminal investigator. One of the highlights of his career was in 1970, when he was selected to be one of the federal law enforcement officers assigned to be air marshals to protect our air travel from hijacking.

David married Carole Phillips in 1957. Together they started a beautiful family that included three children, Patricia, Mark and the late Sheila, ten grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

After he retired, he spent his spent his time with family, reading prolifically, studying art, and traveling. All in all, David and Carole visited all 50 States and all continents - except Antartica.

David passed away in Ft. Myers, Florida June 7, 2026. Funeral and burial will be July 9, 2026, from St. Columbkille Church with visitation at 10:00 am and Mass and burial at 11:00 am
