Diane Alison Fowler

Sep 18, 1955 — Sep 9, 2026

As the sun came up on September 9th, 2026, Diane Allison Fowler (AKA Captain Diane) sailed away from this physical world to be with Jesus. She was just 9 days shy of her 71st birthday.

She was a proud, confident woman with an independent spirit. Shortly after graduating from Western Illinois University, she became a Realtor. She loved marketing real estate and interacting with people in the transfer of home ownership.

She always had a positive attitude that the world would provide answers. Many times, when she was faced with a problem, she would simply ask someone passing by. Sometimes they even spoke English and had a solution.

She was an adventurist and loved to race and cruise her sailboat "Windy City" with her first mate, Roger Wood, all over Southwest Florida. She was a sociable leader in several sailing clubs, and has been a Racing Director, a Cruising Director and Commodore.

She made friends easily with fellow snowbirds in Florida and Wisconsin. She loved to be out in nature; hiking, biking and playing pickleball.

She was fearless, and has solo traveled the world to far flung countries. She even scuba dove the great barrier reef.

She and Roger also circumnavigated the globe by airplane and cruise ships to exotic locations, and saw the USA in their travel trailer, "Gracie ".

She's now exploring the wonders of God's heavens. Sail on Diane, Sail on.
