Francis T Lauzau returned to our Lord on April 17, 2026 due to an extended illness. He was a loving husband, father, and brother.
Tiff, as most knew him, was born and raised in Fairmont, WV to Fran and Jean Lauzau. He grew up there and was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. Tiff later went on to become a successful businessman, owning and operating a convenience store, Me and My Dad's Mart, as well as a chain of Subways. In addition, he also proudly served his country for 27 years in the US Amy National Guard.
Tiff was truly a pillar in his community and church. He was involved in Children’s Miracle Network and Teen Challenge. Tiff was also the head of men’s ministries at his church where he taught the importance of legacy and what we leave behind. His impact and what he left for others was always so important to him. He always taught the importance of family and community.
Tiff had a tremendously giving heart and donated to many local and international ministries including, but not limited to, funding missionary trips, traveling himself as a missionary to Colombia occasionally, donating to local universities, and donating to Teen Challenge. In addition to his monetary contributions, Tiff provided employment opportunities for Teen Challenge students and graduates desiring to share the true nature and love of Jesus Christ with them. He provided words of encouragement and mentored young men struggling with addiction to turn their lives to Christ so they could leave a Godly legacy. Through his business, Subway Restaurants, and the mascot he and his wife Carol created, they made donations to Children’s Miracle Network and visited children and sick individuals. He dressed as Subman passing out balloons, cookies, and free meals to them and their families.
Tiff was a man who loved Jesus very much, and he wanted to share the love and joy of Jesus with others. Everywhere he went, Tiff would put a smile on people’s faces. He always wanted to encourage others and brighten their day, even if that was with a corny joke. He wanted to be a light in the darkness of another person’s day. This is the legacy that Tiff left behind, a legacy of joy and love.
Tiff leaves behind his wife, Carol, of 36 years; four daughters: Lisa (and husband Aaron), Lindsay (and husband John), Alisha, and Ashley, five grandchildren: Landyn (and husband Dante), Tucker, Keatyn, Keller, and Anaya; one great grandchild: Genevieve, and sister: Pam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret Jean Lauzau.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
