Gaspar Laureano

It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of Gaspar Laureano, a man who was loved by so many and will be missed by all. Gaspar Laureano, age 79 passed away on September 19, 2026. He was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, son of the late Nicolas Laureano and Belen Santana.

Gaspar Laureano was the loving husband of Amparo Galvez and devoted father of Samuel Laureano (Sabrina), Inez Laureano (Adam), Raquel (Gabriel) DeJesus, Diego Becerra (Lula), Tatiana Becerra (Milton), and Camilo Becerra (Gabriela). He was the proud grandfather of Amaya, Ciara, Elias, Izrael, Maira, Yanicia, Sophie, Lucas, Lucia, Melanie, and Lorelai. Dear brother of Justo "Cundo" Santana, Santa Laureano, Inocencia "Chencha" Laureano, Regalado "Galo" Laureano, Juan "Guango" Laureano, Herminio "Mino" Laureano, Carmen Gloria Laureano, David Laureano, Mercedes Laureano and finally, uncle, family, and friend to so many others.

Gaspar's charismatic personality made him the type of person who would walk into a room and make everyone smile. His humor and energy would leave everyone laughing with the stories he would tell. One of Gaspar's greatest abilities in life was to bring joy to the lives of other people.

Gaspar loved playing the guitar, fishing, the New York Yankees, making people smile and laugh, and cooking. For him, cooking was not a chore, but a daily gift to everyone around his table. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he rarely missed a Sunday service.

Most importantly, Gaspar loved family. Family meant so much to him that he would always make sacrifices so that others would not have to worry. He never hesitated to help a family member or friend in need without even being asked. As a grandfather, he made the grandchildren's childhood unforgettable, filling them with love, laughter, and countless memories that they will cherish and carry with them forever. He was a man of his word and always followed through with his promises, even if it didn't benefit him.

Gaspar's legacy of humor, love, and dedication to family will forever be carried by those whose lives he has touched. His amazing life will always be looked at in awe and talked about for many years to come.

A viewing will be held on October 2, 2026 from 4pm - 8pm at Mullins & Curtis Funerals and Cremations, 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33916

Gaspar Laureano hijo de Nicolás Laureano y Belén Santana, nació en Yabucoa, Puerto Rico y a sus 79 años falleció el 19 de septiembre de 2026 en Fort Myers FL.

Gaspar fue el amado esposo de Amparo Gálvez y el padre dedicado de Samuel Laureano (Sabrina), Inez Laureano (Adam), Raquel (Gabriel) DeJesus, Diego Becerra (Lula), Tatiana Becerra (Milton) y Camilo Becerra (Gabriela).  Fue un orgulloso abuelo de Amaya, Ciara, Elías, Izrael, Maira, Yanicia, Sophie, Lucas, Lucía, Melanie y Lorelai.  Querido hermano de Justo "Cundo" Santana, Santa Laureano, Inocencia "Chencha" Laureano, Regalado "Galo" Laureano, Juan "Guango" Laureano, Herminio "Mino" Laureano, Carmen Gloria Laureano, David Laureano y Mercedes Laureano; además de tío, familiar y amigo de muchas otras personas.

La personalidad carismática de Gaspar al entrar en una habitación, lograba sacarnos a todos una sonrisa, su sentido del humor y su energía hacían reír a los demás con las historias que relataba. Una de las mayores virtudes de Gaspar en la vida fue llevar alegría a quienes le rodeaban.

A Gaspar le encantaba tocar la guitarra, pescar, seguir a los New York Yankees, hacer reír a la gente y cocinar. Para él, cocinar no era una tarea más, sino un regalo diario para todos los que nos sentamos a su mesa. Su fe fue el pilar fundamental de su vida, y rara vez faltaba al servicio dominical.

Más que a nada, Gaspar amaba a toda su familia, La familia significaba tanto para él que siempre estaba dispuesto a hacer sacrificios para que los demás no tuvieran que preocuparse. Nunca dudó en ayudar a un familiar o amigo que lo necesitara, incluso sin que se lo pidieran.

Como abuelo, hizo que la infancia de sus nietos fuera inolvidable, llenándola de amor, risas e innumerables recuerdos que atesorarán y llevarán consigo para siempre.  Era un hombre de palabra que siempre cumplía sus promesas, aun cuando no obtenía ningún beneficio personal.

El legado de humor, amor y dedicación a la familia que dejó Gaspar perdurará en todos aquellos cuyas vidas iluminó. Su hermosa vida será siempre motivo de admiración y tema de conversación durante muchos años.

El velatorio tendrá lugar el 2 de Octubre de 2026, de 16:00 a 20:00 horas, en Mullins & Curtis Funerals and Cremations, ubicado en 3654 Palm Beach Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33916.
