Gerald Allen (Jerry) Parker, 93, of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Cape Coral. He was born December 19, 1932, in Evansville, Indiana.
Jerry was a retired pastor of the Church of the Nazarene. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, pastor, and friend whose life was marked by faith, service, and a deep love for his family. He moved to Florida from Marion, Indiana, in 2012 and enjoyed spending his retirement years in the sunshine he loved.
Throughout his life, Jerry dedicated himself to ministry, serving as a pastor in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana, where he faithfully ministered to countless individuals and families.
A talented musician, Jerry began playing the trumpet at the age of 12 and continued to enjoy music throughout his life. He found great joy in fishing, restoring classic automobiles, and spending time outdoors. He was an enthusiastic motorcyclist, a proud member of the Airstream Club, and held a private pilot's license, reflecting his love of adventure and travel. Whether flying airplanes, exploring the open road, or sharing a slice of his favorite pecan pie with loved ones, Jerry embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude. He will be remembered for his steadfast faith, gentle spirit, wisdom, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Doretta M Parker; three children, Pamela Kay Poulos (Mark) of Rock Island, IL, Paul David Parker (Kathy) of Cape Coral, Barry Allen Parker (Christine) of Murrells Inlet, SC; one brother, Stephen M Parker of Fenton, MO; three sisters, Dianne O'Neal of Lawrenceburg, KY, Esther E Beckwith (Ron) of Victor, MT and Ruth E Blow of W. Melbourne, FL; as well as six grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Myrtle Parker and brother, Paul David Parker.
A memorial service honoring Jerry's life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the North Fort Myers Church of the Nazarene, 6781 Bayshore Road, North Fort Myers, Florida 33917. Family and friends are invited to gather for a slide show at 10:30 a.m., with the
memorial service commencing at 11:00 a.m. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Jerry to join them in celebrating his life and sharing cherished memories. (The slide show and service will be live-streamed on the church's FaceBook page and YouTube channel.)
