Jack Andrew Carmoney

Jack Andrew Carmoney, 80, of Ft. Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10th after a lengthy battle with kidney disease.

Jack was born on August 8, 1946, in Ashland, Ohio and was the son of Samuel and Pauline (Dove) Carmoney, of Ashland, Ohio. He attended Ashland High School and graduated in the class of 1964. He graduated from Ashland College with a degree in Business. He was employed as an Ohio State Trooper and later retired from Bristol Myers Squibb as a District Manager. He traveled extensively with Bristol Myers Squibb and was proud of the fact that he completely filled his passport before he retired in 2008.

Jack had a passion for hunting and fishing throughout his life. He especially loved pheasant hunting and was a member of the Ashland Chapter of Pheasant Forever, serving for five years as president. He was also state president of Pheasants Forever for the State of Ohio. He loved walleye and perch fishing on Lake Erie and especially loved taking family and friends on his boat. He was a life-time member of the Ashland Elks and the Ashland Eagles Club. He was also a member of the Ft. Myers American Legion.

Jack is survived by his wife, Deborah (Peak), of 41 years, his sister, Sue Stolberg of Sarasota, Florida, his son Michael (Karin) Carmoney of Mitchellville, Iowa, his daughter Shannon Kiefer of Ashland, Ohio, and step-son Ryan Masters of Ashland, Ohio. Seven grandchildren, Jill Carmoney (Adam Kelley) of Iowa City, Iowa, Sam Carmoney (Allie Richmond) of Petoskey, Michigan, Shelby Benton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Mackenzie Benton of Ashland, Ohio, Logan Hunter of Mansfield, Ohio, Alera Masters of Marblehead, Ohio and Brexton Masters of Marblehead, Ohio. He is also survived by his cousin Jane and her husband Jim Heichel of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Jack is preceded in death by his loving parents, Sam and Pauline Carmoney.
