James Virgil Perry, Sr., 69, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in Cape Coral. He was born on May 22, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan.
James was a man of the Baptist faith and lived his life guided by strong values rooted in faith, family, and kindness. He dedicated many years of service to the Florida Department of Transportation, where he worked as a supervisor and was respected for his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment.
James had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed boating and fishing, was an enthusiastic cruise traveler, and especially loved riding his motorcycle. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, often hosting pool parties and cookouts that became cherished memories for all who attended. Known for his warm smile and generous spirit, James was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His joyful presence, caring nature, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Perry; five children, Tonia Perry of Spencer, West Virginia, James Perry, Jr. of Wooster, Ohio, Brandon Perry (Christina) of Cape Coral, Florida, Henry Perry (Alicia) of Cape Coral, Florida, and Johnathon Perry (Kristen) of Cape Coral, Florida; one sister, Joyce Perry of Creston, Ohio; three brothers, Donald Perry (Vicki) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Larry Perry (Candy) of Indiana, and Guy Tom Perry (Laurie) of Bradenton, Florida; his devoted mother-in-law, Laverne, who adored James; along with eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Matsuko Perry.
James will be remembered for his loving heart, his dedication to his family, and the happiness he brought into the lives of others. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A personal Celebration of Life honoring James's life will take place on Sunday, May 17, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
