Janis Marlene Neff

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jan Neff who passed away peacefully on August 24th 2026 at the age of 77, surrounded by those who loved her most. Jan was a beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend, whose love for Jesus, strength, and presence touched the lives of so many.

Jan had a passion for music and the church. Linking the two, she spent many years participating and leading choirs and worship groups at multiple churches throughout Southwest Florida. She loved to give piano lessons, teach at schools, and host any kind of music practice at her house in Cape Coral. At any time you could walk into Jan's house and hear the sound of the piano and her voice as she prepared for church that coming Sunday; and what a beautiful sound it was.

Jan is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Steve Neff; their children, Joshua and Caleb; her beloved grandchildren, Juniper, Phoenix, Azariah, Eva, and Micah; and, as she lovingly called them, her "daughter-in-loves," Elanor and Rylee.

Jan was preceded in death by her mother, Dora Dean (McManus/Dorr) Kahl; her father, Ronald Dorr; and her sister, Jolene (Kahl) Bittner. She is also survived by her siblings, Dan Dorr of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Jay Kahl of Fort Myers, Florida; Dean Kahl of Shelly, Minnesota; Kim Butler of West Palm Beach, Florida; and Kathy Robinson of Margate, Florida; as well as her aunt, Hazel Boulay of Gardnerville, Nevada. As well as many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her and will miss her deeply.
