John Gerard DeAngelis III, 72, a Cape Coral, Florida resident, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in Cape Coral, Florida. He was born on September 27, 1953, in Orange, New Jersey and eventually built a life and family in Toms River, New Jersey where he spent the majority of his life.
John dedicated more than four decades to the construction industry. As the owner of his own company J. DeAngelis & Son, he took great pride in the quality of his work for families throughout New Jersey, his work reflected his integrity, skill, and commitment to excellence. Later in his career, he fulfilled a lifelong dream being an owner of a restaurant in Farmingdale, New Jersey called The Original Mulligans Bar and Grill. Later in his life he enjoyed his well-earned retirement at his home in Cape Coral in the Florida sunshine.
In his leisure time, John found joy enjoying the Barnegat Bay and all the water had to offer. He spent many cherished years boating along Barnegat Bay, where the open horizon and gentle waves brought him peace and renewal.
John is survived by his loving son, John DeAngelis IV, daughter-in-law, Jessica DeAngelis, his beloved granddaughter, Milania Marie DeAngelis who was the light of his life, the mother of his son and former wife Kathy DeAngelis and his sister Marilyn DeAngelis Browning.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Alice DeAngelis and many other loved ones who welcomed him home.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in New Jersey.
