Kalpana Seth

Kalpana Seth, 89, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in Cape Coral. She was born January 29, 1937, in Burdway, India.

Kalpana was of the Hindu faith. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother to Louen. She was known to be kind, friendly and very much loved by many friends and touched everyone she met.

At a young age of 19, Kalpana with her husband and two young sons left India and moved to Japan in 1957. She moved to a different country, learned a new language, culture and traditions as she lived with her Japanese step-mother-in-law. She spoke about learning how to cook Japanese food from her mother-in-law. That is where she learned and earned her teaching license in Japanese Ikebana flower arrangement. She loved making flower arrangements until this last year. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing beautiful items for herself and family members. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in everything she made.

Kalpana was an extraordinary cook. She was delighted in preparing meals for those she loved and when she entertained. Everyone who knew her complimented her with her cooking. She was known as an incredible host who welcomed everyone with warmth, grace and hospitality.

Above all, Kalpana cherished her family. Her love, wisdom and nurturing sprit will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew her. We will miss her; at the same time, we know she is at peace and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three children; Laxmi Seth, Vijay Seth, Pradip Seth; one brother, Ashes Kumar Burman; as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Kalpana was preceded in death by her husband as well as her parents Radha & Sarsi Burman and her four sisters
