Louise Nichols Bell Kant

Aug 22, 1942 — Oct 25, 2026

Louise Nichols Bell Kant, 84, of Cape Coral Florida, a devoted, loving wife, mother, Bama, aunt and treasured friend, received her angel wings on Sunday, October 25, 2026 in Cape Coral, Florida.

Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 "32And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." and 5:1-2 "1Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God".

Louise greeted the world August 22, 1942 at the Chicago Foundlings Home. She was adopted by Elizabeth Thompson in March 1943 and readopted October 31, 1951 when Elizabeth became Mrs. Jefferson Garrett Bell.

Louise (Weezee) went to public school in Beloit Wisconsin, where she met the love of her life, Douglas Kant in junior high. They married on June 1, 1963 and had two children Steven Garrett, and Debra Louise (Debby).

She worked various jobs as a secretary and billing specialist. Her most cherished position was at the Saginaw Valley State University bookstore handling financial aid and accounts. She retired in 1994 where she and Doug traveled in their motorhome throughout the US, Canada and Alaska, as well as several cruises all over the world. They settled in Arizona before finally moving to Cape Coral, Florida.

Weezee had expertise across a vast range of crafts, including sewing, quilting, jewelry creation,

card making, scrapbooking, stained glass, wind chimes, painting, woodworking and lamp making, however, her passion was genealogy.

Those who knew her will forever remember her warm, giving heart, compassion, unconditional love, the way she lit up the room when she entered, and her unfaltering love for the Lord.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas; her son Steven Kant of Freeland, Michigan; her daughter Debra Woody (Clark) of Cape Coral, Florida; her granddaughter Ryli Kant of Detroit, Michigan; her grandson Kristopher Kant of Freeland, Michigan; numerous grand and great-grand fur babies; her sister-in-law Deanna Feuerstein of Beloit, Wisconsin; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and so many beautiful friends, especially the family she had at Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral.

Weezee was predeceased in death by her parents, Jefferson and Elizabeth Bell, her in-laws, Ralph and Mildred Kant, her beloved brother Leland Bell, her "special second parents" Big Bill and Franny, her brother-in-law Frederick (Fritz) Feuerstein, and many beloved pets.

She was loved beyond measure and she will be so deeply missed. Until we meet again - 143.

A celebration of Weezee will take place at Gulf Coast Village, 1333 Santa Barbara Bld., Cape Coral, FL 33991 at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2026. A celebration will also take place in Michigan at a date and time to be determined.
