Lucille Falco Barcaro, 91, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully with family at her side, Tuesday January 20, 2026, at The Cottage at Cypress Cove Retirement Community in Fort Myers, Florida.
Lucille was born on February 8, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School. She proudly earned her associate degree while working at Montgomery County Community College—an accomplishment that reflected her lifelong love of learning.
She married Eugene Barcaro (deceased), and together they raised two children. She enjoyed a successful career as a Purchasing Assistant at Merck Sharp & Dohme. Lucille retired and devoted herself to the many activities she loved. She was an enthusiastic tennis and golf player, had a deep appreciation for the arts, and greatly enjoyed traveling.
One of Lucille’s most cherished experiences was spending a summer month at Oxford University, where she immersed herself in the study of Shakespeare. A devoted reader and lover of poetry, she found joy in literature throughout her life.
Lucille spent her winters in Florida before eventually relocating there permanently to enjoy the sunshine and outdoor lifestyle she loved. While living in Florida, she generously volunteered her time with ESL programs, the Cypress Cove memory care unit, and an after-school care center for children.
Lucille is survived by her two children: her daughter, Maria Courter (Kevin) of Media, Pennsylvania, and her son, Eugene Barcaro of Lansdale, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her sister, Dolores Myers of Alexandria, Virginia, and her two beloved grandchildren, Michael and Eric Courter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armand and Jean Falco.
