It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Marlaina Sue Collver, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Sue was surrounded by her loving family and friends when she peacefully left this world on April 8, 2026, at the age of 73.
Born on February 16, 1953, in the rolling hills of Kentucky, Sue was the beloved daughter of Ralph and Della Ward. She carried their love and values throughout her life, honoring their memory with her kind and compassionate spirit. Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Della, Sue’s legacy of love continues to shine brightly through her family and the countless lives she touched.
Sue’s journey took a joyous turn when she met and married the love of her life, Brian, on June 29, 1973. Together, they nurtured a warm and vibrant home in Fort Myers, raising two devoted sons, Danny and Ryan, who, along with Ryan’s wife, Jessi, brought immense pride and joy to her life. Her granddaughters, Caitlin and Sydnie, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent in their company.
Professionally, Sue dedicated her career to the banking industry, culminating in her role at FineMark National Bank & Trust. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professionalism but also for her unwavering kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand. Sue’s integrity and dedication left an incredible mark on all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.
Sue’s personal life was rich with adventure and joy. She found solace and happiness in the great outdoors, often embarking on camping trips with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Her love for the thrill of the races was evident in the many years she spent attending the Daytona Duel races and the Daytona 500, sharing these exhilarating experiences with her best friend and their grandchildren.
A beacon of kindness and warmth, Sue was renowned for her ability to maintain lifelong friendships. Her genuine interest in others and her ability to stay connected to those she loved were testaments to her caring nature. She was a source of comfort and support, always ready with a listening ear or a word of encouragement.
The family of Marlaina Sue Collver wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who cared for Sue during her illness. Your kindness and support have been a source of strength during this difficult time.Sue’s life was a testament to love, friendship, and resilience. A memorial service celebrating Sue’s life, allowing all who loved her to come together in remembrance of a truly remarkable woman, will be held on Saturday, Mary 30th between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM at FineMark National Bank, 8695 College Pkwy, Fort Myers; please leave an RSVP text message to (239) 470-1615.
