She was proud of her educational accomplishments which included getting her PHD from the University of Michigan. She taught in Trenton Public School and at Eastern Michigan University until her retirement in 1993 and 1996 respectively. Before her move back to Marlette in 1999, where she grew up and graduated Summa Cum Laude from MHS, Dr. Ross was a musician of note in the downriver and Detroit Musical Scenes. She played the piano for Seaway Chorale, Detroit Edison Glee Club, Wyandotte Orpheus Club and several community theatre groups. Service as a pianist and singer at the Riverview United Methodist Church, she accompanied dozens of soloists in her long career. A former student of noted harpsichordist Edward Parmentier and Penelope Crawford at the U of M, Dr.Ross has performed harpsichord concerts in Great Britain and Europe.

After returning to Marlette, she was involved in many concerts....she and sister, Cora Jean were in these together with many more to follow down in Estero Florida. The clubhouses were packed. Many included sister Janice as well and these became very popular!

Patrecia had a soft spot for veterans. She gathered around 20 ladies to help her sew quilts for soldiers in the Air Force Hospital over in Germany. Each season, for around 12 years, these ladies made approximately 125 quilts and made sure they reached the laps of veterans who were cheered up by them. Some were distributed locally as well. Probably well over 1,000 quilts were made in total!

A celebration of life service will take place on October 10, 2026 at the Marlette First Church.
