Patsy Ann Martin, a cherished resident of Fort Myers, Florida, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on October 16, 1948, in her beloved hometown, she was the daughter of Jessie Edgar Smith and Clara Nell Musselwhite, both of whom have since passed. Patsy Ann leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, having been preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert Martin, and her dear siblings: Darlene Smith, Juliet “Judy” Hart and her husband Gene Hart, Jimmy Smith, and her brother-in-law Gordon “Flip” Harby. Her life was a tapestry of warmth and kindness, touching the hearts of all who knew her.
Patsy’s journey began with her graduation from Fort Myers High School, followed by her pursuit of cosmetology. For many years, she dedicated herself to the art of beautician work, bringing joy and confidence to her clients. Her passion for creativity then led her to sewing, where she crafted and sold dolls and other handmade treasures at her own downtown store. This entrepreneurial spirit was a testament to her artistic flair and dedication.
In a career shift, Patsy joined the Lee County School District, where she served as a cafeteria manager for many years. Her colleagues and students alike admired her for her unwavering work ethic, her compassionate nature, and her nurturing spirit. Patsy had a unique ability to create a welcoming and supportive environment, making her a beloved figure in the school community.
Travel was another passion that enriched Patsy’s life. She cherished the memories of long road trips to Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and Montana with her children, and later, her grandchildren. Her love for exploration took her to Georgia frequently to visit family, and even to the distant shores of Australia to see her son and his family. These adventures were filled with laughter, discovery, and the creation of lasting bonds.
Patsy also found joy in simpler pleasures, such as fishing with her grandchildren, trying her luck at the casino, and, above all, cooking. Her exceptional culinary skills brought her family together around the table, where they shared meals, laughter, and the warmth that defined her. Patsy had a remarkable gift for finding joy in every moment and ensuring that those around her felt cherished and loved.
Her legacy is one of love, kindness, and the countless lives she touched. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to inspire and comfort those she left behind.
Patsy is survived by her devoted husband, Kenneth “Marty” Martin; her children, Kenneth Martin (Pamela) and Jonathan Martin; her daughter-in-law, Silofa Martin; her siblings, Pete Smith and Trudy Harby; and her five beloved grandchildren, Mayli “Lee” Martin, Jillian Martin, Zachary Martin, Clara Martin, and Oceana Manuopangai, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mullins & Curtis Affordable Funerals and Cremations, Cape Coral, is entrusted with final care.
A graveside service will take place at Fort Myers Cemetery, located at 3200 Michigan Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33901, on Saturday, October 24th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
