Richard Ray Hampton

Richard Ray Hampton, 59, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Fort Myers. He was born April 2, 1967, in New Albany, Indiana.

Richard career was mostly in retail management. Through all those years he made numerous lasting relationships. His crews always looked up to him for guidance and support. He was always the one who would go and help anyone who called him.

Richard was a man of Christian faith whose greatest joy came from spending time with the people he loved most. He will be remembered for his warm heart, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He was the person everyone turned to for help and understanding. Richard was an avid sports fan who proudly cheered for the San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Braves. A proud Hoosier at heart, he never forgot his Indiana roots.

He was also a big WWE fan and watched all the competitions.

In recent years he had expanded his love of Star Wars, by building and collecting Star Wars Lego sets.

Richard loved spending time in the sun and at the beach with his loving wife. He also loved traveling to different island get aways.

Among his happiest moments were those spent swimming and making cherished memories with his beloved granddaughter, BG in her play room. She was very much a Papa's girl. He loved playing ball and rolling around on the floor with his grandson JR. He loved his grandson Marty who did not live close but in his heart he desired a closer relationship with him. Richard had a great love for his dogs Hannah and Isla. Pets were always in his life. His kindness, loyalty, and love for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kalyne; four children including, Stephen Greer (Cassie), Shawn Greer (Amanda); one sister, Tammie Juliot; as well as three grandchildren, Marty, BG and JR.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Johnny and Glenda Hampton.
