Robert John Alongi

Robert John Alongi, 69, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026. He was born on August 31, 1957, in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised in Deer Park, NY until age 7 and then his family moved to Dix Hills, NY.

Robert was employed by Honeywell in Long Island, NY for over 25 years. He graduated from Half Hollow Hills School District and earned a degree from Farmingdale State University. He had a deep love of geography and visited all 50 states in the US as well as Puerto Rico. He also was a huge fan of professional wrestling. Robert will be remembered best as a kind and caring person who was also an organ donor helping others still.

Robert is survived by his siblings. Sisters: Lee Carr (George) and Diane Friedman (Jeff); and brother: Paul Alongi; Nieces and Nephews: Dustin Bauerle, Mathew Bauelre, Tamara Harding, Bryan Friedman, Steven Friedman, Ben Alongi, Maggie Alongi and Chance Anderson; Great Nieces and Nephews: Vincent Harding, Aleniah Moore, Scott Harding and Quinn Alongi.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Ann Alongi.
