Samuel Joseph Mike November 10, 1970 – January 10, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Samuel Joseph Mike, lovingly known as Sammy. Sammy was born on November 10, 1970, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to Samuel Gerard Mike and Jacqueline Nelson Trasport. He graduated from Quigley Catholic High School in 1989.
Sammy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Airman First Class (A1C). He was stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base, where he worked in Civil Engineering as a heavy equipment operator and was a dedicated member of the Fire Dozer Team. He was a veteran of Operation Desert Storm, serving in Saudi Arabia in 1994, and continued his service as a member of the Air Force Reserve until 2001.
While stationed in California, Sammy met the love of his life, Roberta. They were married on June 4, 1994, and in 1996 returned to Aliquippa, where they raised their two beautiful children, Austin and Amanda. Sammy was a devoted and proud father who cherished watching his children grow into the remarkable adults they are today.
Committed to lifelong learning, Sammy earned his Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix in 2005.
A creative soul, Sammy, viewed the world through a unique lens, capturing meaningful moments through art and photography. Above all, he found his greatest joy in being surrounded by family and spending time with his beloved dog, Lacey.
Sammy was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Mike; his paternal grandparents, Helen Joseph Mike and Walter Mike; and his maternal grandparents, Lillian Nelson and Rodger Alexander Nelson. He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta Mike; his son, Austin Mike; his daughter, Amanda Telesz (Garren); his mother, Jacqueline Nelson Trasport; his stepfather, Mark Trasport; his brother, Jason Mike; his sister, Natalie Deagan (Billy); his nieces, Evelyn Mike and Sophia Deagan; and his nephew, Jackson Deagan.
