Virginia Frances (Anasiewicz) Amalfi, 75, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2026.

Born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Virginia lived a life defined by compassion, determination, laughter, and unconditional love. As a child and young adult, she was a phenomenal athlete who excelled at nearly everything she set her mind to.

Her drive and dedication carried into adulthood, where she became the proud owner of a highly successful dog grooming business in Hopewell, New Jersey. Through her work, Virginia's remarkable gift with animals became evident to everyone who knew her. Animals instinctively trusted her, and she loved and cared for each one as if it were her own.

After retiring, Virginia moved to Southwest Florida to be closer to her daughters. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her beloved and only grandson, Jacob Daniel Carroll. The love they shared and the memories they created together will be cherished forever.

Virginia was known for her quick wit, goofy jokes, and infectious sense of humor. She could be stubborn at times, but those who knew and loved her knew that beneath that stubborn streak was the biggest, most selfless heart. She loved fiercely and without hesitation. She was the kind of person who would gladly go without if it meant helping a family member in need. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she always put the people she loved before herself.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Nancy Anne Carroll and Gina Frances Hawkins; her cherished grandson, Jacob Daniel Carroll; her siblings, Carolyn Prefach, Stephen Anasiewicz, and Joanne Anasiewicz; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anne and Chester Anasiewicz, and her brothers, Richard Anasiewicz and Robert Anasiewicz.

Virginia's legacy is one of unconditional love, unwavering generosity, laughter, and compassion- for both people and animals alike. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and an example of what it means to love deeply, give selflessly, and find joy in making others smile.

The family will hold private services to celebrate Virginia's life.
