Vonceil Libette Bixby

Vonceil (Vonnie) Libette Bixby (Wilson), 56, of St James City, FL, peacefully stepped out of this life surrounded by her family and into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at her home in St James City, Fl.

Vonnie was born October 1, 1969, in Springfield, Mo. and grew up in Ft Myers Fl. where she attended school including Ft. Myers High School. She was a regional manager for MCI telecommunications for several years and a personal trainer in the Dallas area following her time with MCI.

In 2008 Vonnie moved back to Southwest Florida and built a life rooted in service, compassion and community. As a dedicated medical massage therapist, Vonnie had a servant's heart and found great fulfillment in helping others through her work, offering comfort and care to those in need around her. She will be remembered for her warm generous heart, gentle kind spirit, devotion to her family, Christian faith and her bright beautiful smile.

For 9 years Vonnie fought a very courageous and fierce battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer. During this journey Vonnie advocated, supported and encouraged others in their time of need as they too suffered from the disease. She was involved with cancer survivor support groups such as MBC Travelers, Metavivor and was an active board member with SMOV (Send Me On Vacation), a nonprofit organization that sponsors cancer survivors for healing vacations. Vonnie enjoyed traveling to several countries with the SMOV sisterhood.

Vonnie has many special friends that meant so much to her. To know her was to love her.

Vonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. James City where she loved her church family.

She is survived by her soulmate and loving husband, Jeff Wilson; two children, Blake Bixby of Jacksonville, FL and Skylar Bixby of Bowling Green, KY; father, Nathaniel Briscoe (Laura) of Port Charlotte, FL; as well as one sister, Shelly Briscoe, niece Kaily (Danny) Vazquez and nephew Chase Gatlin all of Dallas, TX. and niece Tessa (Gabriel) Thomas of Irvine, Ky. and 5 grand nieces and nephews. Lori and Pat Lanni. And her very special little companion "Sammi".

Vonceil was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sutton Briscoe and sister Natalie Briscoe Phillips.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church of Saint James City at a later date to be announced.
